Choose for the surface first

Metal or removable spikes are intended for suitable natural surfaces where strong traction matters. Rubber-stud or turf-style shoes are often more practical for hard grounds, practice areas and surfaces where metal spikes are not allowed.

Your role changes the priority

Fast bowlers usually benefit from strong heel lockdown, cushioning and outsole stability. Batters often prioritize comfort and lateral movement. Fielders need traction with enough flexibility for acceleration and direction changes.

Fit matters more than size label

Try shoes with the socks you actually play in. Your heel should stay secure, the forefoot should not be crushed and your toes need enough room to avoid repeated impact during running and bowling.

Do not buy only for appearance

A premium-looking shoe is poor value if the outsole does not suit your ground or the fit causes movement inside the shoe. Surface compatibility and comfort should decide the purchase.
